Its been a long journey, but thanks to the leadership of County Cllr Jocelynne Scutt, the Local Liaison Forum with residents have secured plans they support.

Residents’ Associations have blossomed and with CamCycle and local councillors, we’ve worked together to get a scheme that we can all be proud of.

There have been calls to abandon the scheme by some, but working together we have secured:

¨ Net increase of 70 trees forming a tree lined avenue

¨ Improved landscaping at junctions and hopefully for shops near Arbury Road

¨ Segregated cycle lanes away from vehicles

¨ Priority for cyclists and pedestrians at junctions

“Hopefully we have set a new standard for consultation” says Jocelynne. “There have been difficult times, but the amazing contributions from the public will be delivered in Milton Road”
