We are very pleased to announce that Alex Skinner has been selected as Labour’s candidate for West Chesterton for the City Council election in May. Alex is a resident of Mitcham’s Corner and long-time campaigner for a truly better Milton Road.

“I’ve experienced first hand the challenges West Chesterton faces.” says Alex.

“So many of West Chesterton’s problems can’t be solved by standard, off-the-shelf solutions. They need someone to come up with new ideas, something my work as an engineer has trained me for.”

Alex first got involved in campaigning when the plans for Milton Road were announced. As someone who walks or cycles the length of the road every day, he has a deep personal interest in ensuring that the changes to Milton Road are deliver for all. As a councillor he would continue to fight for a road which fairly balances the needs of pedestrians, cyclists, buses and cars. “Milton Road is just as much a residential community as it is a way into Cambridge” says Alex.
