Buses in Cambridge are expensive and unreliable. Too often they fail to get people where they need to go when they need to be there. This is unacceptable.

To stop Cambridge becoming even more polluted and gridlocked, we need to use buses more and cars less, but right now there is little incentive to switch. Stagecoach have a near monopoly and have shown zero interest in providing the   comprehensive bus service Cambridge needs.

The Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough James Palmer has the power to franchise bus services, like in London. However he keeps delaying actually using his powers. At the current rate we will have to wait another two years before he even starts.

Alex Skinner challenged Mayor Palmer to guarantee a stopping service for Milton Road at a recent meeting. “All I got were warm words” says Alex.

Cambridge deserves a functioning bus service and we will campaign strongly for it.
