The police have moved on a street drinker from the children’s play area.
They have even bought their own furniture

So the street drinkers are back in the Great Eastern Play Area.
By anyone’s sense of fairness street drinkers and play areas don’t mix!
Following a new spate of complaints I visited the area yesterday and there were three people drinking and sitting on the play equipment.
I contacted the police and 30 minutes later they were gone.
If you see street drinkers being a nuisance here please ring 101.

Residents complained to Dave that anti-social drinkers had taken over the play area at the Mill Road end of Great Eastern Street.  Dave carried out a survey in Great Eastern Street to ascertain what the residents wanted and met with the council officers and police to find a solution.

The street drinkers were moved on and the area was opened up.

Result – children can now play in this area.
