City Councillor for Romsey Dave Baigent took Romsey’s banner to the Consultative meeting at the Central Library and then to the march through Cambridge to alert people to the LibDem and Tory privatisation of care services.

Dave said: “I am so surprised that people are not taking to the streets over this – it is our NHS, a prize for all those who fought at home and abroad 70 years ago.”

Dave was joined by Daniel Zeichner (Labour’s candidate for MP in Cambridge), Sue Birtles (Labour’s candidate for MP in South Cambridge) and fellow City Councillor Mike Todd-Jones and other Cambridge Labour Party Members.

Daniel says “Very pleased that the Romsey Labour Party are supporting the campaign to stop local NHS services being privatised.”

The consultative meeting at the library saw county’s clinical commissioning group trying to defend the LibDem and Tory proposal to privatise older people’s and adult community services in Cambridgeshire against what is clearly a growing tide of public opinion.

If you want to make your voice felt and help to stop the LibDems and Tories from selling off our NHS Care Service in Cambridge and Peterborough then you can fill in the questionnaire available at Surgeries and libraries before the 16th June.
