Commenting on the resignation of the Addenbrooke’s Chief Executive, Daniel Zeichner MP said:

“I am sorry that Dr Keith McNeil has stepped down. I found him to be an inspirational leader who was popular with staff.

Sadly he is the victim of the Government’s failure to come up with the cash they promised for our NHS during the General Election.
 
Staff at Addenbrooke’s work their socks off to get the best outcomes for patients but Cambridge’s NHS faces serious financial challenges which have been made worse by poor Government decisions.”
