On the King’s Hedges by-election result, Cambridge Labour Stated:

 

This is clearly a disappointing result for Cambridge Labour and King’s Hedges. Throughout the campaign, we have highlighted our record on tackling anti-poverty and inequality, particularly in the face of Tory austerity and the cost of living crisis, as well as our work to address the climate, biodiversity and housing crises. We have also been lucky to have a fantastic candidate Zarina, who has campaigned with passion and integrity. However, this election was always going to be particularly unusual, with the STZ dominating the narrative from the beginning. This is something we cannot ignore, and will undoubtedly be reflecting on. However, we want to reassure residents that our priorities over the next year will remain, and we look forward to continuing to deliver for our residents across the city.
