At a recent Cambridge Labour CLP general committee meeting held on Friday 18th March, members passed the following solidarity motion with Chile in relation to their recent Presidential election:

“The Cambridge Labour Party would like to congratulate our Chilean comrades and Gabriel Boric for their overwhelming win in the Presidential election. This triumph will enable the complete eradication of every one of the crimes of Pinochet and the Chicago ‘School’ Boys instituted in Chile, which destroyed all the social gains that the Chilean people had long fought for.

We applaud the clear win and the magnificent thank-you speech that Gabriel Boric delivered to the Chilean People.

As a Cambridge Labour Party, we have been committed to supporting the struggle of the Chilean people and have strong connections with Chile, having helped over 300 families that came as refugees escaping fascist repression.”
