The Government have shown a blatant disregard for Cambridge motorists and the local economy says Daniel Zeichner MP.

Local people have been up in arms about the length of time work on the A14 took and how long the 40 mph speed limit remained in place. Now questioning by Mr Zeichner has revealed that the Government made no assessment of the time and financial cost to motorists and road hauliers before setting out to make the road improvement works.

Mr Zeichner said: “The go-slow on the A14 caused disruptive traffic jams, endless frustration and I’m sure a knock on effect to the local economy.

The Government need to learn lessons and better plan and co-ordinate work to minimise disruption.”
