Newnham Labour team get Wilberforce Road bollard fixed

Yvonne Nobis and City Councillor Cameron Holloway are really pleased that the broken bollard on Wilberforce Road has now been replaced. Many residents raised the issue with them while they were canvassing a few weeks ago, and they then got in touch with the County Council’s Highways Officer for Cambridge to ask for it to be fixed or replaced, and to emphasise the frustration that the broken bollard was causing. The Highways team have now put a new bollard in place.

The broken bollard had been a longstanding issue, with people consistently removing the bollard to rat run through Wilberforce Road, putting pedestrians and cyclists at risk.

Yvonne and Cameron said: “We are really pleased to have helped get a new bollard in place, as we know that rat running has been causing real frustration to Wilberforce Road residents. We are sorry that this has been such a longstanding issue, but pleased that it has now been resolved.”
