Many residents have approached us about the City Deal proposals to close Union Lane at its junction with Milton Road.

City Councillor Gerri Bird is Vice-Chair of  City Deal Milton Road Liaison Forum which has been looking at this.

Gerri says “Most residents who we have called on say they are against the closure of Union Lane as it means access to our area would only be through the High Street and Green End Road.

People from outside the area are worried about access to Chesterton Medical Centre. There are  also concerns about access to schools and shops.”
