Better Parking for Metcalfe Road, Courtney Way, Gurney Way, Ascham Road and Hurst Park Avenue

After the Milton Road Library meeting, discussions with local residents, the head of Milton Road School and County Council Officers, we believe there are different opinions about restricting parking but  a consensus that the main issue is safety.

These concerns are particularly at junctions, corners and outside Milton Road School at opening and closing times. Safety concerns include:

• Inconsiderate parking
• Difficulty in safely exiting and accessing  residential roads from busier roads
• Difficulty in negotiating junctions and corners
• Restricted views of traffic on side and main roads
• Danger for pedestrians including vulnerable school children
• Danger for cyclists

Before taking a formal scheme to the County Council, we would like to confirm our discussions with you by an informal consultation of  proposals. We will then finalise details with Council Officers before the formal Council Consultation of the public. See the options here
