Cllr Gerri Bird welcomes changes to local policing

” Even before I was elected to represent Chesterton I was raising the issue of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour in parts of our ward.  Persistence has now paid off.  The local Police Prevention Team have agreed to start targeting parts of East Chesterton,   

They will be prioritising repeat offenders and those areas which suffer most from crime. This should lead to a reduction in crime and the fear of crime, in our area”

Police have taken action against crime at the corner of Scotland Road and Green End Road. For too long this has been a hotspot of crime and anti-social behaviour. Hopefully this will see improvements in the area.
