Abbey Labour councillors have won nearly £8,000 worth of funding from the County Council to help improve the safety of the Whitehill Road area following residents telling us about dangerous speeding traffic.

The project consists of refreshing give way junction markings on Pool Way just off Whitehill Road and installing new junction markings on Stanesfield Road at the junction with Whitehill Road. A speed-activated sign to warn motorists should they go above 20 miles an hour will also be installed soon.

Let us know if you think there is anywhere else in the area which needs similar attention!
