Your Abbey Labour Team have successfully bid for the County Council to fund a safe crossing point at the Abbey Street with New Street and York Road junction. 

The crossing should offer greater safety to all who use the existing pedestrian crossing of Newmarket Road next to Abbey Street in accessing, or returning from, Brunswick Nursery School, York Street Surgery and St Matthew’s School. The County Council are currently consulting on the proposals and, should there be no objections, work to install the crossing point should happen early in 2021. 

Funding for sorting out the currently chaotic parking on Occupation Road has also been sought.
