Anna Smith for Romsey
City candidate for Romsey
Anna’s proud to be the councillor in charge of Labour’s anti-poverty strategy, overseeing an annual grant of £1million to community groups working with those in need. She’s also championed
• keeping Mill Road Bridge open to pedestrians
• installing the Romsey ‘R’ and the new Coop forecourt
• supporting Montreal Square residents fighting to keep their homes
planting wildflower meadows and introducing zero chemical trials in city parks
• scrapping child funeral fees
Anna says “The most rewarding part of being a local councillor is dealing with the casework which is specific to individuals and families, like supporting residents with planning concerns, getting accessible showers fitted, or advising on a noise complaint.“
Anna is a proud British European and fully supports Daniel Zeichner MP’s fight to stop this Tory Brexit chaos.
Mill Road in Summer
Romsey Labour are working with the community to Make the Most of the 2019 Mill Road Bridge Closure in July / August.
Mill Road and the surrounding streets should be much quieter, and as part of our commitment to listen to opinions and ideas from our community, we organised and publicised an open meeting at Romsey Mill on 29th March. Lots of exciting ideas are emerging, including creative workshops, art projects and music events. Register your interest at overmillroadbridge.org.uk and we can keep you up to date with progress!
Welcome to the Mosque
Anna says “It was wonderful to visit our beautiful new eco-mosque and meet some of the worshippers. I look forward to all the community connections I’m sure will be built over the coming months and years.”
