City Councillor for Abbey Ward
Nicky has lived in Cambridge for the last five years with her husband and three living children. She works part time for a local charity called Hoveraid and volunteers for the East Anglia Children’s Hospice who looked after her youngest son.
Nicky was elected in May 2018 as your City Councillor with 57% of the vote.
She has led on local campaigns to keep a Post Office in Abbey, the stopping of HGVs from entering Stanley Road, and has worked with Riverside residents over visitor permit charges and the West’s Garage student development.
Cllr Massey also knows how important children centres and early years provision are for families and is personally involved in national and local campaigns to ensure centres like The Fields in Abbey are funded properly.
Nicky has spoken to hundreds of Abbey residents before and after her election and has organised surveys on the state of the verges in Whitehill Road and crime and anti-social behaviour in Peverel Road.
Nicky is working with County Councillor Joan Whitehead in making Newmarket Road safer for pedestrians and cyclists. Cllr Massey’s experience of working in the charity sector will be of benefit when bidding for funding to improve our area.
