Elisa Meschini
County Councillor for King's Hedges division

I was born in Milan in 1982. I moved to Newcastle in 2006 to do a PhD in medicinal chemistry and then moved on to Cambridge to work for the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2011, and I have been here since. I became active in my ward of King’s Hedges in 2013, where I helped campaign for the election of former councillor Fiona Onasanya to Cambridgeshire County Council. It was my great honour to be able to stand for the same seat four years later following Fiona’s move to Peterborough, where she is now the MP. I am a governor at King’s Hedges School and I am very passionate about children in our community getting the best start they can in life. In my free time I enjoy cycling, reading, baking, watching football and snooker.
