Carina O’Reilly
City Councillor for Arbury Ward

Carina O’Reilly has lived on Victoria Road for fifteen years and in the Arbury and Castle area since moving to Cambridge in 1997.
Carina says: “I’m a local resident and I feel strongly that this part of Cambridge should be looked after. I want to protect the access to parks and footpaths and the provision for cyclists that makes this part of Cambridge so special.”
Carina has been involved in several local campaigns, including the fight to the Wessex Place footpath open between Magrath Avenue and Castle Hill, and she helped spearhead the successful campaign for a 20mph limit in Victoria Road. She served as Executive Councillor for the City Centre and Public Places from 2014 until taking on her current full-time job in 2016.
Carina studied at Lucy Cavendish College in Cambridge and works at Anglia Ruskin University as a Lecturer in Policing and Criminal Justice, as well as editing a web-based magazine on policing governance. She is a keen cyclist and a gardener, and has an allotment on the New Chesterton site off Histon Road.
