Cllr Beth Gardiner-Smith
City Councillor for Romsey

Beth Gardiner-Smith is a Labour councillor for Romsey Ward. She was born and grew up in Romsey and knows the local area well. She has spent her career working with communities to improve lives and win change. She has experience working for the Labour Shadow teams in opposition and is currently Chief Executive of an award winning international charity working with refugees to provide access to safe routes.
Beth says “As a parent of young children, I know how important our local schools, community centres and the Romsey Rec are, as well as clean air and tackling climate change. As a Labour City Councillor I will make sure we are doing all we can as a council to help people with the cost of living crisis, continue to support social housing and improve standards in the private rented sector as well as supporting local businesses here in Romsey.
I’m proud that Cambridge is a City of Sanctuary and will use my voice on the council to make sure our city is welcoming to everyone who lives here, and continues to stand up to racism.”
