Cambridge Labour candidate Daniel Zeichner today slammed the Conservative Party General Election manifesto saying that once again it shows that the Tories are not on the side of the people of Cambridge.

Daniel Zeichner said: “The Tories just don’t get in. In an age when people feel uncertain, prices are going up, their children’s schools are underfunded, our public services are creaking at the seams, they put forward a manifesto that addresses none of these issues. Unlike Labour they have nothing to say about the future of EU nationals, and their obsession with including students in an unachievable net migration target will continue to damage our universities.

“What we saw today is a Prime Minister who called the election not because she wanted to put forward her own vision but for cynical party management purposes. There is no ‘Mayism’, just the same old Tories.

“Only Labour will stand up for the many, not the few. Our vision for the country is embedded in the values that the majority of people across Britain share and our common sense approach marked by popular policies that address the real issues we face will help the lives of ordinary people in Cambridge and throughout the UK.”
