Residents’ parking remains a thorny issue throughout West Chesterton.RP_JS_CK.jpg

Possible solutions are complicated by County boundary changes. Three Councillors are involved – Cllrs Claire Richards (Castle), Jocelynne Scutt (Arbury) and Cllr Ian Manning (Chesterton), each responsible for different areas.

We are working with residents in the Victoria Road ‘parking zone’ and Ascham / Metcalfe ‘parking zone’ to provide residents an opportunity to discuss possibilities with County officers.

Cllr Richards organised a Stakeholders meeting for Victoria, and Cllr Scutt organised a Workshop for Ascham / Metcalfe.

Cllr Richards is working with residents of Green’s Road and Primrose Street  to see whether more parking spaces can be fitted into the ‘zone’ whilst accommodating access for emergency and refuse vehicles.

Cllr Scutt is working with residents of Ascham / Metcalfe bearing in mind that four schools exist in that locality, with drop-offs and cycling safety features, and that Milton Road Library and the Nursery on Milton Road need spaces for library users and nursery staff.

We are determined to ensure that residents are able to decide what is best for their areas, with the best information and options available. Please contact us with your views.
