20mph for Victoria Road secured
After a long campaign by Labour County Councillors Jocelynne Scutt and Paul Sales working with local residents, Victoria Road will be part of the 20mph zone. Cooperative effort bears fruit!
Parking -; the perennial problem!
The County Council is appointing an officer to develop plans for the city that will address parking for residents. Jocelynne says “Funding cuts mean that no proposals for residents’ only parking will be actioned. It is therefore imperative that transport and parking are looked at together so commuters and shoppers do not continue to be the bane of residents’ lives.”
Making the most of Rubbish Bins
Rubbish accumulates at bus stops and outside shops. To overcome the rubbishing of West Chesterton, bins have been placed at the Chesterton Road Coop and at the Chesterton Road/De Freville Avenue corner. City Council Executive Cllr for Environment, Waste and Health Cllr Peter Roberts has spare bins including ‘Doggy Bins’ for West Chesterton. If you know of rubbish accumulating where it clearly needs a bin, please let us know!
