West Chesterton is in the middle of a planning application frenzy – or so it seems. This is against the background of the City Council Local Plan being subject to independent examination by the inspector on behalf of the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.  We believe residents want positive development that complements West Chesterton, adding vibrancy and life.

We therefore need to  ensure  designation of part of the ward as an Opportunity Area doesn’t result in developers trying to  by-pass the Local Plan by rushing through applications.
