Plans have been unveiled for the redevelopment of the Colville Road shops and flats, following on from the redevelopment of the Colville Road three storey flats and car park. After lobbying by Cherry Hinton councillors, all 47 properties will be council houses, and residents and retailers will be able to return.

Councillor Robert Dryden spoke about the redevelopment, saying; “It’s important we give priority to people wanting to return. We know Mensroom, Cambridge Eye Care, Dorringtons and the Kurser are all highly valued by local residents, so we will make sure they all have temporary premises during the work – if that’s what they want. We will also press for Cherry Hinton residents on the housing list to get preferential access. Watch out for more consultations as the work progresses.”
