Conservative Congestion Charge

The Conservative Congestion Charge is a botched job. Early morning charging would punish low paid workers such as care staff, nurses and cleaners, whether they are adding to congestion or not. The proposal does nothing to address the current major traffic problems in East Cambridge, let alone future problems that would be caused by the Marshall's development plans if they were to be revived. Coldham's Lane and Mill Road are already overloaded and under-repaired and the Tory scheme would make these areas so much worse.

Despite the scheme being introduced by the Conservative County Council, the city Tories claim to be against it. With their councillors dodging the issue with their two-man Transport Commission, we have to ask - which way will the two-story Tories vote if they are elected here?

Destroying jobs for massive over-development

The two-story Tories are at it again. The Conservative County Council teamed up with your Lib Dem City Council to push through plans for 12,000 homes on the Marshall’s site. The traffic chaos it would bring and the loss of skilled jobs in the city means that this scheme is fatally flawed. Strangely, the city Tories claim now to be against the development. Once more we deserve to know, if elected, which way will they turn?
