Sign the Petition – Save the NHS

Day by day, week by week we hear of more damage being done to our NHS - waiting times increasing, waiting lists growing and nurses' posts being cut. NHS David Cameron's Health and Social Care Bill will not just make matters worse it will change the NHS as we have known it, creating a postcode lottery and pitting hospital against hospital. We need the Government to Drop the Bill and put the NHS first.

Dr Kailash Chand GP has set up a Government e-petition calling on the Government to drop the NHS Bill. Click Here to Sign

Fighting to save our NHS

NHS

The Lib Dems voted through David Cameron and Nick Clegg’s dangerous health reforms which open up the NHS to mass privatisation and hugely expensive and unnecessary reorganisation.

Delay to Cambridge running its own Housing Finances

05 February 2011

The LibDem/Conservative Government has blocked Labour’s 2010 plan to allow Cambridge to run its own housing finances from 2011.

Councillor Lewis Herbert said ‘It is a massive kick in the teeth for the 5800 families on the Cambridge housing waiting list that the LibDem/Conservative Government has blocked Labour’s 2010 plan for Cambridge to run its own housing finances from 2011.’

The change has been postponed and all the benefits stripped out by Treasury, blocking Labour’s plan to build 100 to 150 new Cambridge affordable homes every year.

‘Instead, the Government and Council are together hitting tenants with an outrageous and unjustified 7.45% rent increase at exactly the time they are cutting the service provided, which will force many to claim housing benefit who have never claimed it in their lives.’
