For the second year running a Labour Councillor has been named as Youth Champion in the Council's "I'm a Councillor, Get me out of Here!" vote.
After competing for youngsters' votes, the results are in for I'm a Councillor, Get Me Out of Here.
Over the last two weeks six Cambridge city councillors have been answering questions and chatting online to youngsters, only tearing themselves away to visit schools and youth centres to drum up support.
They were then voted out one by one.
Labour Councillor Miriam Lynn came out top as the IAC Youth Champion 2007 for Cambridge taking over the mantle from 2006 Youth Champion Labour’s Ben Stafford.
Cllr Miriam Lynn said: "Thanks to all the young people who voted for me. I'm a Councillor" has been a great experience for me - It's been great to have a real debate with young people living in Cambridge - something that should continue throughout the year. Listening and acting on young people's views is so important to making Cambridge the kind of city that we'd all like to live in - I've been talking to young people about housing, anti social behaviour and local democracy - issues that are close to all of our hearts. I'd like to thank all the young people that took part in this project and encourage all young people to continue "chatting" to their Councillors."
Miriam is committed to following up the issues raised and will be pressing the Lib Dem council to reverse the £40,000 cuts in youth services.
