Daniel Zeichner MP and Lewis support Alzheimer’s Society’s Fix Dementia Care campaign

Lewis and Morse star Kevin Whately joined Daniel Zeichner MP to back a new Alzheimer’s Society campaign.

While Lewis may be more of an Oxford man, the two put city rivalries to one side to call for improvements in hospital care for people living with dementia.

Daniel Zeichner MP has written to Simon Stevens, CEO of NHS England, to call for greater transparency across the NHS following an Alzheimer’s Society investigation. This found too many people with dementia are falling while in hospital, being discharged at night or being marooned in hospital despite their medical treatment having finished.

Daniel Zeichner MP said: “The first step to improving the issue across the country is greater transparency - once we know where the shortcomings are we can take steps to tackle them.”
