Daniel Zeichner elected as MP for Cambridge

In the early hours of this morning Daniel Zeichner was elected MP for Cambridge.

In his acceptance speech he acknowledged the hard work of his predecessor Julian Huppert and thanked all the candidates for the way in which the campaign was conducted. He then said:

"Let me thank most of all the voters of Cambridge who have entrusted me with your vote in Parliament - it is a huge privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously.... I will do my very best to uphold the strong tradition of excellent MPs in our city."
